Ryomou's Missing Nipples

Ikkitousen Ryomou Shimei figure by Clayz

The first thing I noticed when I unpacked this Ikkitousen Ryomou Shimei figure by Clayz, was that something terrible appeared to have happened to her in transit. I'm no expert in anatomy, but I know more or less where nipples are supposed to be. I have a pair myself.

Perhaps they came as a separate part, or maybe were broken off. I shook the box, but no nipples fell out.

I complained to the supplier that my nipples were not included, but was informed that all their Ryomous had the same problem. Amazingly, the sculptor forgot to put nipples on poor Mou-chan and no-one noticed the mistake. Either that or we are supposed to believe that whatever force tore the front of her outfit off also removed her nipples.

It surely had to be a mistake. If you weren't going to put nipples on for some reason, why not make the scraps of clothing just a little bit bigger and hide the nipple area?

I decided to try and fix her myself.

That nasty bootleg Tamaki Kousaka figure wasn't using her nipples, but despite my best efforts I couldn't get them off. Painting the nipples on was not an option either, because the only paint I had was green.

It seemed I would just have to Photoshop some nipples on, so as not to disappoint my loyal readers. I took a picture of my own nipple and pasted it on. Not good. The wife has slightly better nipples, but she wouldn't co-operate.

Then I spent three hours on the net trying to find a genuine picture of Jennifer Love Hewitt's nipples. What a waste of time that was. It took even longer than finding that picture of Jessica Alba with her arms above her head. So I basically ran out of time, and the picture below was the best I could do:

The nipples originally belonged to Willa Ford, my latest crush. Don't go looking for pictures of her now, she's not the same without nipples.

Shouko-san vs. Inju

Yet another bootleg figure from my demented eBay spree. Shouko-san is supposed to be from Kotobukiya, based on a drawing by Shunya Yamashita (I like his work, can you tell?) But her eyes aren't looking in the same direction, her hairpiece is the wrong colour and her top half falls off if you breathe on her too hard. And I tend to breathe hard on all my figures.

Up to now I've been taking these pictures outside with natural light, but that has become too restrictive. My neigbours and my little kid keep discovering me. So these were taken using the most amateur setup possible - a 100 watt light globe about half a metre away on one side and an aluminium foil reflector on the other side, which didn't seem to make much difference. Automatic settings and macro mode on the camera. So I can only improve from this point.

I dragged Inju-kun out of semi-retirement for this test shoot. Tentacles just seem to be the perfect accessory for a pretty girl.

Figurephilia #6

Pocco, another figure based on a drawing by Shunya Yamashita, is the fourth in Kaiyodo's Fraulein Revoltech series. I have some nasty plans for her later.

Real Women

It's been pointed out to me that the the physical appearance of these figures does not properly represent the way that real women look, so I decided to investigate further. Below is a picture of an average woman (Jessica Alba) compared to Yamato's Maria Freed figure.

Jessica Alba vs. Maria Freed 1

I have compared Maria to Jessica very closely and I've found a few anatomical defects. Be warned - once your attention is drawn to the flaws, you'll notice them every time.
