Anesthesia and Saber
Poor Saber hasn't been feeling well (she probably caught something from that skanky Kanu). Anesthesia, the sexy nurse from Konami's Rumble Roses video game, threatens to take her temperature.
As I mentioned before, Saber is probably a fake. Anesthesia is the real thing from Konami's Figure Collection, and very nice too. Unfortunately her backside is flattened from too much sitting, otherwise I'd have taken lots of pictures of it.
Figurephilia #1
The debut of my webcomic. Figurephilia is the ongoing existential saga about a bunch of self-aware anime figures and their trials at the hands of their otaku owner. It's entirely possible that I'm the only person in the world who will find this amusing. Actually, it takes a lot to amuse me, so I probably won't like it either.
Kanu Unchou and Saber vs. Inju
Sorry for this uninspiring set of pictures, but at least Inju-kun enjoyed himself.
These two 1/7-scale figures have some very suspect parentage. The Ikki Tousen Kanu Unchou is almost certainly a fake - the paint chips off, it came grubby and you can see globs of glue through a particularly bad join at the hip. No way would this be a Griffon original. I wasn't aware at the time of the proliferation of fakes on eBay - buyer beware!
The Saber is probably fake too - if only because it was so cheap. The original from Griffon costs ten times what I paid on eBay. Can't really complain about the quality though, especially for the price.
Imari Kurumi vs. Inju
This 1/6-scale C-Works Imari Kurumi from the hentai anime Bible Black is not a very good figure. Sure, the cast-off chest piece and skirt might keep you amused for a few months, but the production quality isn't great. Mold-lines, messy paint job in parts, unattractive skin color. She does have a cameltoe though, which is always good (see the second picture.)
You remove the skirt by ripping her in half. I find that process traumatic. Inju-kun had to look away.
Mirei-san vs. Inju
This 1/6-scale Kotobukiya statue of Mirei-san based on the art of Shunya Yamashita is one of the nicest in my collection. Inju-kun likes her as well. I told him to be gentle.
This Mirei is a limited edition colour for the 2007 Hong Kong Comic Fair. She has an alternate arm and hair, which weren't used for this shoot. She also is supposed to have a pen, but Inju-kun swallowed it.
This is my first attempt at a photoshoot. The pictures were taken outside against a white card, with a basic Canon Powershot A700 camera. Most shots are in macro mode and all are hand-held. Not too bad for a first attempt I suppose. Contrast has been increased a little.
